This figure can turn 1 full turn or up to 2 turns, up to dancers.
1: LF fwd, toe turned out (small step) | Pointing center | HB | 1/4 to L btwn preceding step and 1 | Nil | CBM | Nil
LF is the center of pivoting action.
Left side diagonally fwd.
The one crossing in front is the center of the turn.
2: RF to side and slightly back, with 1/2 weight | Facing DW Against LOD | B | 3/8 to L btwn 1 and 2 | - | -
3: LF crosses in front of RF | Facing LOD | BH | 3/8 to L btwn 2 and 3 | - | -
1: RF to side and slightly back to inside edge of Lady's LF | Facing DC | BHB | 1/8 to L btwn 3 and 4 | - | -
Lady will be center of the turn (she's crossing in front.)
2: LF crosses behind RF, 1/2 weight (a type of twist turn) | Facing DW Against LOD | B | 1/2 to L 4 and 5 | - | -
3: End weight on RF | Facing LOD | BH | 3/8 to L 5 and 6 | - | -
Lady
1: RF to side and slightly back to inside edge of Man's LF | Facing DW Against LOD | BHB | 1/8 to L btwn preceding step and 1
Lady start from BLOD position, RF is really stepping fwd (that's why it's "Face DW against LOD"), but because of strong rotation, it ends like side and slightly back.
Keep left side forward and positive, with partner. Do not rotate left shoulder away from Man. Keep shoulder parallel with Man at all times.
2: LF crosses behind RF, part weight (a type of twist turn) | Facing DC | B | 1/2 to L btwn 1 and 2 | - | -
Lady is the momentum. LF crossing behind is the whip of the turn. Man is the stabilizing the center of the turn.
3: RF to side, small step. | Facing Against LOD | BH | 3/8 to L btwn 2 and 3 | - | -
Use the foot. Remain in the circle. This is not a big step.
1: LF fwd, slightly cross RF, in between partner's feet | Pointing to Wall | BH | 1/4 to L btwn 3 and 4 | - | CBM | -
Keep left side fwd, left side positive. Do not cross center with Man.
2: RF fwd, part weight | DC | B | 3/8 to L btwn 4 and 5 | - | -
After RF fwd, swivel on RF.
3: LF crosses loosely in front of RF | Facing against LOD | BH | 3/8 to L btwn 5 and 6 | - | -
Note:
The amount of turn: can do 1 full turn up to 2 full turns (as shown above).
For both Man and Lady, there is a strong rotation, so there must be a foot swivel on the ball of the flat foot on each step.
Fleckerls are done on the spot, it doesn't move around, focus on rotation. The power for the rotation does not come from upper body. Speed comes from feet and legs.
When the steps are repeated, the Man will dance step 1 as lady's step 4 (draw LF back to RF, L heel closes to inside edge of RF).
