Link is a Newcomer Level figure. Start in Open Position.

Leader

  • Q: LF back

  • Q: Replace weight to RF

    • slightly retract L arm

  • QaQ: Fwd chasse LRL. End in Closed Position

    • gradually return to normal position

  • QaQ: Side Chasse RLR

Follower

  • Q: RF back

  • Q: Replace weight to LF

  • QaQ: Fwd Chasse RLR. End in Closed Position

  • QaQ: Side Chasse LRL

Notes:

  • Step 1 and 2 can be repeated, known as Double Link.

  • When preceding Whip or Whip Throwaway: dance 1-5 of Link, turn 1/4 R over 3-5 (Man's step 5 is diag fwd to end LF side and slightly fwd)

  • Variations for step 1 and 2:

    • Flick (or point) Ball change: (Lady does natural opposite)

      • Q: Flick LF forward from knee, slightly off floor, OR, point LF forward without weight on outside edge of toe

      • a: LF back with part weight, small step (Toe)

      • Q: Replace weight to RF

    • Hesitation (Normally only done by Lady)

      • Q: Hold position with weight on LF

      • a: Close RF to LF, OR, replace weight forward to RF

      • Q: LF forward
