Aros, Rondes, and Shadow Check

Lady

  • SQQS: Starting the figure with: Lady rock back on S, QQ: LF to side cucaracha, S: feet together

  • QQS: RF back rock, S: RF fwd to Man's R side.

    • Man leads with a little lift (possibly some hand tension/squeeze), he will pick up Lady's L waist with his RH.

    • Man could accelerate to get Lady into Aros, &S, Lady steps on & fast , almost passing him and then slowly do Aros.

    • Lady gets weight onto RF, extend R side while doing Arabesque with bent L knee

    • LF try kick higher to butt, otherwise it may look like lower L leg is just hanging.

    • Make sure L knee is not forward which will kick Man after turning, Upper L leg/thigh parallel next to R leg

    • Head shape to L. R leg is straight, lifted feeling. Get onto ball/toe of RF

  • S: Man leads Lady to turn under her R arm. Lady points L leg straight fwd

    • Lady brings her L knee through and point.

    • Rotation is through the hip, swivel on RF.

    • Head change to shape to R. Could articulate delayed head and flick out to R.

    • After turning to this position, Lady is in seated, bent R knee position.

  • S&: The first part S Lady finishing the twist and go into bent R knee, then Lady's LF fwd coming out on & count.

  • QQS: Telemark

    • Q: RF to side, face the Man

    • Q: LF closes to RF

    • S: RF fwd in Promenade position. BH

  • S: LF fwd, R leg ronde

    • Lady steps LF in compressed/bent L knee, shape to R, then rise while doing ronde with R leg (kicking football)

    • rise fully up when facing Man, R leg bicycle, bent R knee in front, go down to bend L knee, to propel to RF rock and ronde with L leg.

  • S: RF rock back, bent R knee, and ronde L leg immediately

    • LF ends very crossed almost to the R side of RF, no weight, Lady's L hip is turned to L, very twisted. Finish in crossed position first before unwinding.

    • the feeling is Lady is hanging off the hand hook, then bring her RH over head to finish the feet untwist.

  • S: Lady untwist (or QQ)

  • S: after unwind from previous twist, weight is still on RF, then rise onto front LF on this count before swivel on LF to turn to R

  • QQ: Untwist to R on Q, Q: RF go diagonally to R in a circle around Man. Step, collect LF , pivot on RF before stepping LF on next step to ronde.

  • S: LF to side/back, press into bent L knee and propel into ronde with R leg,

  • Q: After R leg ronde, RF ending cross back of LF

  • Q: LF to side

  • S: RF fwd, to Man's L side, behind Man, in Turkish towel position.

  • Q&QS: syncopated R turn to side by side position, Lady in front.

    • Lady ending RF to side on S. At this time, body/head shape to L, R side stretched (before going to next step)

  • QQS: Lady LF cross in front, shape to R, R arm articulate to R side.

    • Lady rock LF fwd across/RF replace, LF to L side and change shape to look L, extend R rib cage.

  • QQS: Lady side rock RF/LF replace (keep looking to L) / RF back, change shape to look to R

  • QQS: Lady LF rock fwd/RF replace (keep looking to R)/ LF to side and slightly turning to L, but keep head to look R, shape even more/bow to wind up to L and prepare to turn R.

  • Q&QS or Q&Q&S: Lady syncopated R turn, depending if Man wants to end on his RF or LF. Lady may end to side or back.

Note:

  • To create sharp look for the ronde twist, e.g. L leg ronde

    • throw L leg around and back, pivot on RF, end with L toe touching floor in front for balance (before moving weight onto LF)
