Time Step
Cha Cha Cha Time Step
The Cha Cha Time Step is a Newcomer Level figure. This online reference gives a detailed description of the different variation of the dance steps, including timing, footwork, alignment, and movement; a list of figures that may precede or follow the pattern; and videos providing instruction and demonstration of the figure, techniques and practice routines that include it.
Time Steps can be danced any time in Closed or Open Position without hold, or having released hold at end of previous figure.
Left Foot Time Step
2: LF behind RF (Cuban Cross)
Feet are in 3rd position. R knee bent (not straight leg as in other patterns)
3: Replace weight to RF
4 & 1: LF to side to chasse LRL
Right Foot Time Step
2: RF behind LF (Cuban Cross)
Feet are in 3rd position, Latin Cross position, really wrap twist hip around the core to the right, while maintaining straight body line.
Option 1: L knee bent (not straight leg as in other patterns)
Option 2: L leg straight.
3: Replace weight to LF
4 & 1: RF to side to chasse RLR
Note:
There is no physical lead, typical connecting figures:
Man dances a Spot or Switch Turn, or LF Cuban Break, while Lady dances RF Time Step.
Man dances a RF time step while Lady does Spot or Switch Turn, or LF Cuban Break.
