Starter Step
West Coast Swing Starter Step
This pattern starts in closed hold. It's normally used to start the dance, followed by Throwout. There are different versions of starter step.
Version 1 (Benji Schwimmer version)
This is taught in Benji Schwimmer's workshops.
Leader
1&2: Chasse to left LRL | no turn
triple step to side with 3 weight changes.
step down the slot.
3: RF back
&: LF almost closes to RF
4: RF cross in front of LF
Continue with side pass
Follower
1&2: Chasse to right RLR | no turn
3: LF back, slightly cross F
&: RF replace | 1/4 to R at end
At end of beat, turn 1/4 to R
4: LF back
Ending in perpendicular position with Man.
Just 2 triple steps, no rocks.
Continue with normal figure like Left Side Pass, Basic Tuck Turn
