Waltz Drag Hesitation

The Waltz Drag Hesitation is an additional Silver level figure. Leader

  1. Count 1: LF fwd | Facing LOD | HT | start to turn L | - | CBM | -

    • Sending lady to inside of turn.

  2. Count 2: RF to side | Backing Wall | T | 1/4 btwn 1-2 | - | - | rise e/o 2

    • Left side is axis point. Staying down at the beginning, rise takes place when R leg passes the body.

    • Could add Sway, then level off at 3.

  3. Count 3: LF closes to RF w/o weight | BDW | T (both feet), then TH (RF) | 1/8 btwn 2-3 | - | - | up, then lower e/o 3

    • The following step, Man will lead Lady OP

Follower

  1. Count 1: RF back | BLOD | TH | start to turn L | - | CBM | -

    • Right shoulder relax down and connect to foot as axis point. Left hip rotate.

  2. Count 2: LF to side | pointing btwn W and DW | T | just over 1/4 to L btwn 1-2 | - | - | rise e/o 2

    • Lady has slight foot swivel between 2 and 3.

    • Body will turn slightly less than 3/8.

    • If Man adds shaping and sways, Lady turns head to right to follow the shape.

    • Man can also shape to L, then Lady keeps head to L, center to Man.

    • When rising, be very aware to pull center back.

    • Do not peak too early. Follow the Man's body.

    • Lift chest up to Man. Man can change shape to do outside partner, Follow Man's shape.

  3. Count 3: RF closes to LF w/o weight | Facing DW | T (both feet), then TH (LF) | under 1/8 to L btwn 2-3 | rise, then lower e/o 3

    • Lower at end of 3, ready to push.

    • Next step will be OP.
